Holistic Medicine
•
Naturopathic medicine is an alternate form of medicine that focuses on treating the whole person, and not just the symptoms but also the cause of the problem. This age old medicine is based on scientific and empirical evidence. It believes in the innate intelligence of our body to heal itself and the power of nature to assist in the healing process.

Naturopathic doctors go through an intense four years of medical education after completing their undergraduate degrees. In addition to Pharmacology, the study of pharmaceutical drugs, they study modalities such as homeopathy, acupuncture, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine and hydrotherapy to treat a person as a whole.
• A crucial part of this medicine is for practitioners to act as educators for their patients, including explaining the disease process and encouraging the patient to take full part in their own health. |
